The Reddam House Helderfontein Sports Centre is fully equipped with an Olympic-sized waterpolo pool, multipurpose surface arena, cricket nets and a learn-to-swim child pool. In addition, these facilities are available throughout the year. This optimal training environment, alongside our excellent coaches ensures that everyone reaches their full potential.

Yes, we offer weekly and termly boarding options for students from Grade 6 - 12. The premium boarding facilities include boutique-style rooms, complete with en-suite bathrooms, as well as recreational common rooms and private study areas. With 24/7 support and concierge services, we ensure our students feel at home.
Yes, we have a full-time nurse available to students from 7:00 till 16:00
Early Learning School
Our Early Learning School curriculum is inspired by the internationally renowned Reggio Emilia philosophy. We embrace a child-centric learning environment which encourages curiosity and independent thought. We have a holistic, developmental curriculum in place which focusses on Literacy, Numeracy and Life Skills, as well as specialist lessons.
Our extended day includes a calming nap after lunch and additional playtime activities until 15:00. We ensure our children maintain a relaxing routine and provide a homely environment that encourages independent discovery and learning.
A healthy snack is provided each morning for all early learning school students, including chicken strips, fruit, muesli, yoghurt, crackers with cheese, cucumbers and carrots. You are not required to send in lunch boxes for the morning.
Preparatory School
Students are obliged to participate in at least one co-curricular activity per term. This includes sport or cultural activities.
Our motto is “we shall give back” ; this inspires everyone at Reddam House Helderfontein to always be socially aware of others and to give back where needed. For instance, our college students offer Maths and English tutoring to pupils in need of assistance, from around the community.
Grade 4 - 6: 1 hour per day
Grade 7 - 9: 2 hours per day
Grade 10 - 12: 3 hours on average per day
Our notion is one of restorative action and not punitive (albeit if the matter warrants, we have procedures to follow and will do so). Should an issue be bullying, we engage with the children concerned and inform the relevant parents to address it. All parties are well aware of the procedures within our Code of Conduct and the policy regarding bullying.
Netball, Swimming, Water Polo, Tennis, Golf, Cricket, Soccer, Rugby, Indoor and Field Hockey, and Basketball.
Yes we do, our STEAM offering includes compulsory subject selections in the form of Robotics and Coding as well as Digital Literacy.
Technology is used to enhance teaching at the school. We encourage the use of tablets and laptops for older students and have three computer labs on campus.
Each candidate is interviewed and assessed individually. Should additional assessments be required, students will be asked to complete an examination.
Yes, Reddam House Helderfontein is affiliated with the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), offering a diverse, stimulating subject choice. The internationally respected curriculum provides access to all universities in South Africa, as well as global opportunities. Certain universities, like Oxford and Cambridge, do require an A Level qualification which our new IFY programme will accommodate for.

Giving need to know feedback to respective parents until the matter is resolved, and then check in on the children to ensure that all is well. Should a matter need escalation, the Head meets with the concerned parents and indicates any punitive measure that fits the incident, as per our code of conduct.
