A Unique Setting
The Reddam House Helderfontein campus boasts beautiful views, a lush greenbelt and well-established trees, located within an estate bordering the Jukskei River and known for its natural beauty, walking trails, mountain bike tracks, numerous play parks and picnic areas. The school’s architectural design is in keeping with this rustic environment, with wood and stone-clad walls. The tranquil setting will provide an atmosphere conducive to discovery and learning.
The Early Learning School (ELS) follows a strong Reggio Emilia inspiration. The school features a very large, central piazza – designed as an interconnected space to exhibit children’s work – fostering interaction, curiosity, exploration, and celebration.
The ELS campus has fully equipped classrooms with attached bathroom facilities that open onto large beautiful outdoor quads with exploration equipment and play areas. The children enjoy their meals in a central dining hall, where healthy eating options are given to our children. There is a 300-seat school hall for school concerts and activities hosted by the ELS.
The Junior and Senior Preparatory classroom is equipped with a SMART TV and the Junior Preparatory classes open onto large outdoor play areas; Music, Art and Drama classes are hosted in the Creative Arts Faculty in state of the art studios. The dining halls overlook the playing fields. A variety of healthy food options are available to our students and the canteen is operated by Red Deli.
The Middle College and Senior College classrooms are also equipped with SMART TV, and have specialised Computer and Science Labs, an Art studio, canteen and an auditorium.
Creative and Performing Arts programmes are highly valued at Reddam House and are an integral part of our holistic approach to education. Diverse and comprehensive theoretical and performance-based programmes in Drama, Dance, Music, Visual Arts and Public Speaking are offered at all levels of schooling.
The vibrant and colourful cultural life of the school includes art exhibitions, soirees, fashion parades, public speaking and debating competitions, theatre and film clubs, and musical, dance and dramatic productions.
Reddam House Helderfontein will provide this vibrant cultural offering in the Creative Arts Faculty that contains a Performing Arts foyer, two Music studios and ten Music practice rooms, with two Ensemble studios and a Music Piazza. There are also Dance and Drama studios within the faculty as well as an Art studio with an Art Piazza.
Offering extensive sporting facilities, including two fields for rugby and cricket, tennis courts and a dynamic programme administered by qualified coaches, incorporating Cricket, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Rugby, Soccer, Tennis and Water Polo.
The Reddam House Helderfontein Sports Centre is equipped with a multipurpose playing surface and indoor heated pool. This optimal training environment, alongside our excellent coaches ensures that each individual reaches their full potential.
